We are always happy to hear from talented researchers, with more specific current opportunities advertised below and on Cambridge job portal. More about Cambridge in the About section.

Interested in doing a PhD with us? Admissions are through the Department’s PhD programme (don’t worry about the “Public Health” angle, this is just because of which department we’re affiliated with and doesn’t impact the PhD topics). First, you should familiarise yourself with the application process and postgraduates studies at Cambridge. Ahead of submitting an application through the portal, you should contact Loïc by email with a CV and a summary of relevant experience and research interests that align with the group (including potential PhD topics). Note that applicants that haven’t contacted us first are unlikely to be successful. Although applications are considered on a rolling basis, the funding deadlines indicated on the application page are crucial (PhD funding will be awarded by one of the University programmes). As an indication, the funding deadline is generally at the start of December, and mid-October for US students applying for a Gates scholarship. For the best chances of success, you should contact us a couple of months before that.

As a group, we value and encourage applications from a diversity of backgrounds and experiences to contribute to the highly interdisciplinary research programme. We strongly value and encourage Equity, Diversity and Inclusion as well as a flexible working environment.
